JEWEL N STAR, has been the winner of the CROWHURST LITERARY AWARD, and received Honorable Mention by the nationally renowned WRITER'S DIGEST.

A passionate adventurer, Star left her birthplace of California in the late 1960s to explore the United States. She worked her way around the country, and then expanded her travels abroad. In the mid-1970s, she returned to California and settled down to be a wife, mother, farmer, artist, and eventually a writer.

Star was in her mid-thirties when she realized her passion was to become an author. It was a long time in the coming, but when she looked back at her history it made sense. Always an avid reader, and a detailed story teller, she found that the words she wanted to share were easily accessible.

After practicing the art of writing for nearly a decade, and with only a few stories and poems to show, Star realized that to be a serious writer she would have to return to college and learn the particulars of the craft. Fortuitously, she signed up for an English class instructed by Professor Robert Kirk, Ph.D. and he became her biggest fan. He encouraged her to enter her writing in an upcoming competition which she won, "hands down" according to one of her benefactors.

After receiving national recognition, Star was ready to devote her talent to being a wordsmith. Not sure what direction to take, she realized that by specializing in technical and business writing she would be able to fine hone her skill.

While working for the marketing firm DME (Direct Mail Express) in Florida in 2000, Star was able to exercise and grow in her writing expertise before starting her own copy-writing business, ProStar Services, LLC. During that time, she was an educational book ghostwriter, and a copywriter of instructional manuals and guidebooks, marketing collateral, direct mail, etc. She was also certified as a Professional Consultant by the American Consultants League, and was a member of the AWAI (American Writers and Artists Institute).

In 2005, Star added the feather of Realtor to her working cap. She was a third generation Realtor, and had two siblings who were also working in real estate. It was a natural fit with her marketing background and writing skills. Little did she realize at the time that she would contribute to the profession by one day writing about real estate, and her book: 7 MAGIC KEYS TO BUYING A HOME, What Savvy Buyers Need to Know, can be found on her Author's Page.

Retired from the workforce in 2013, Star moved Off Grid. She is writing about her current lifestyle and maintains an ongoing blog on the subject: Off Grid Living Revealed. She is devoting her "retirement" to uploading the many unpublished manuscripts, self-help books, novels and short stories that have been stacking up untouched over the years. She also has many topics on the table yet to be written and a couple of more novels to finish. She won't be retiring from writing any time soon!

Harrison was no hippy drug addict or pothead burnout. He always looked clean. In fact he was a trained shrink. The first time I saw him he was wearing a searsucker suit and a bow tie and was carrying an attache case. I could venture a guess that Harrison was a CIA operative or a Saul Alinsky graduate in charge of organizing bands.

G.H. "Hank" Harrison

Hank Harrison is a writer and publisher with a deep interest in Medieval History, the Celts, Neolithic Archaeology, the Star Mounds, archaic astronomy, Hermetism and sacred geometry. He began writing about human and animal psychology in graduate school in 1962. Since founding the Arkives Press in 1967, Hank has been a frequent guest on hundreds of national and international television and radio shows, including Katherine Cryer on Court TV, Geraldo Rivera and Maury Povitch. He has also appeared across Canada on CBC Radio highlighted by a historical appearance on the Jane Hauten Show. He is featured several times each year on American radio and television shows including, Tom Likus, Allen Handelman and numerous local shows.
Media Appearances

In pursuit of his work he has appeared on America's Most Wanted, Hard Copy, the National Enquirer, American Journal, Inside Edition, Unsolved Mysteries and A Current Affair and on similar radio and television talk shows in Europe. His entry in Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the World began with the 1976 edition.

Hank is featured in the controversial documentary film: Kurt & Courtney, by British filmmaker Nick Broomfield and in the well-known educational documentary LSD: 25. Both films were released on Video and DVD and shown on Showtime, HBO and over the BBC channels. Likewise he was featured in books such as Who Killed Kurt Cobain (1997) by Max Wallace and Queen of Noise (1996) by Melissa Rossi. In the early years of his career (1965-1976) he was mentioned in The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test by Tom Wolfe and was featured in Time, Life, Newsweek and the New York Times for his pioneering work with Drug Abuse intervention programs.

Hank spent an idyllic childhood on Cannery Row and the beaches of Pacific Grove before relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1949. He attended Hayward High School, the College of San Mateo, San Jose State and San Francisco State University. He has lived and taught in Canada, England, Holland and Ireland. While in Ireland he worked as a consultant for the Irish department of labor. He is the author of seven books, and over 200 magazine & journal articles.

Hank holds a degree in Psychology from San Francisco State University and has attended postgraduate classes in anthropology and various seminars at Stanford. He also studied urban cultural experiments at the University of Amsterdam and is privileged to have studied renaissance and medieval topics with the late Dame Frances Yates at the Warburg Institute, London.

Awards & Honors

In 1968 he was awarded a scholarship to the Rocky Mountain Writer's Conference. In 1974 he was writer in residence at Montalvo Center for the Arts, Saratoga, California and won a six-month journalism residency in Las Vegas as feature editor for the Las Vegas Sun. In 1984 he attended the prestigious Stanford Publications course on a grant from Applied Materials Corporation. The first two books of his trilogy on the social history of the Grateful Dead have exceeded 300,000 copies in sales worldwide and have been translated into Portuguese, (Brazil) German, French and Dutch. A mass-market paperback was released in England. The long awaited Vol. 3, Dead End is in preparation.

'As OMIG, (Ocean Medical Investigative Group's), investigative team coordinator, Thomas H. Johnson, is nicknamed the traffic cop in managing an eclectic group of investigators whose common goal has been the discovery of suppressed or concealed evidence in the OJ Simpson Murder case since 1996. Much of Johnson's and the OMIG group's discoveries point to Simpson's innocence and raises concerns of malfeasance by sworn court officers in regard to other suspects.
Because Johnson's high standard investigative expectation is based on the mantra "No One and Nothing is Granted the Privilege of Presumption" it requires that he motivate his investigators to dig deeper and move beyond presenting subjective evidence to OMIG as the ultimate truth.
He been called on to go into the investigative trenches by OMIG's chairman, Dr. Henry S. Johnson and its board, since 1996, in pursuit of indisputable objective evidence. Under his management the OMIG investigative department has revealed several irregularities in the Simpson case, including problems with the alleged Bruno Magli shoes, the crucial time of the last phone call to Nicole Brown Simpson, the murder weapons used and the hands in which they were wielded by assailants.
He reveals information regarding Ron Goldman and Goldman family connections left unexamined by law enforcement, and potential violent felons who were in close proximity to the murdered victims then known by law enforcement.

While he lived in Portland he co-founded three theatres, including Stark Raving Theatre, and started Orthicon Ghost Productions. The documentary, "John Lennon - a conspiracy of silence" was released in 2010, based on an earlier article Rod wrote for the weekly "PDXS". He currently lives in the Los Angeles.
